Check out workshop series for 2020
November 19, 2019 — Are you interested in advancing your knowledge of therapeutic horsemanship? Is it your dream to become a therapeutic riding instructor? Are you a volunteer committed to deepening your understanding of equine-assisted activities? If so, the experienced instructional team at Fieldstone Farm has developed an all-new information-packed series designed to improve PATH Certified Instructors’ skills, and to provide guidance for those interested in stating the process to become certified therapeutic riding and driving instructors. Topics range from lesson planning to volunteer management to horse selection.
Participants will receive hands-on, experiential learning and classroom instruction from our PATH Certified team. The hands-on teaching portion will be divided into two tracks: Track A is geared toward those who are inexperienced teaching in the arena. Track B is geared toward those who have started their teaching mentorship, or who are currently Certified Instructors.
All workshops will count towards PATH continuing education hours. This year we will also host a full-day workshop with sessions led by content experts and community practitioners. This one day will fulfill the annual requirement for Disability Continuing Education hours required by PATH Intl.
Commit to all four workshops and receive the opportunity to teach two Fieldstone Farm classes under the mentorship of our instructors. For more information, please contact Tonya Zimmer at 440-708-0013 ex 128 or tzimmer@fieldstonefarm.org. For a registration form, please click here.

PATH Workshop and Certification, Aug. 6-9, 2020
Are you ready to become a PATH Certified Instructor? Fieldstone Farm will host a PATH International Registered Level Workshop and Certification on Aug. 6-9, 2020.
All PATH certification candidates are required to complete a PATH Workshop (either this one or a previous one) before becoming eligible to test for certification. The two-and-a-half-day workshop beginning on Aug. 6 will highlight topics key to therapeutic riding instruction and includes classroom instruction, role play and observation. It is an excellent source of information for all those involved with therapeutic riding and counts toward continuing education requirements.
Following the workshop, Fieldstone Farm will host a PATH Registered Instructor Certification on August 8 and 9. It will begin with candidate riding demonstrations and lesson assignments on the evening of August 8. The next day, candidates’ teaching skills are evaluated. Candidates receive their results in a private interview the evening of August 9.
